Our History

In the early 1950's Dr Mort (Mortimer) Zilko & Dr Michael Slavin took over Dr Savage's practice in upstairs rooms at 4 Fortune Street, Narrogin - opposite Mackie Park & over the top of where Everett's Lawyers are now located.  Mr Dyson, a Dentist, also consulted out of their rooms.

In the 1960's they relocated to 112 Federal Street in Narrogin, opening the Federal Street Clinic.  Amongst others, Dr John Parry, Dr Arthur Nurick, Dr Alan Kerrigan &     Dr Peter Beaton joined the Practice in ensuing years.

In 2010, Dr Beaton & Dr Kerrigan relocated the Practice to new rooms at 57 Williams Road, Narrogin.  The purpose built facility & the location across the road from the Hospital was a welcome upgrade.  The Practice was renamed the John Parry Medical Centre to honour their former partner, Dr Parry, and his tireless efforts in the Narrogin healthcare field: as a GP, as a Doctor attached to the Narrogin Hospital, as a fierce advocate for rural health & as a driving force in setting up the Rural Clinical School of Medicine (RCS).  The RCS medical students spend a year working in a Rural Hospital to advance their medical knowledge & to encourage them to work in Rural Medicine in the future.
